Director of Marketing

National Non-Profit in Northern VA is seeking Marketing Candidates at all levels of experience well versed in B2B Marketing Programs, from development to execution

 

  • Develop and execute comprehensive and fully-integrated marketing strategies for multiple stakeholders to increase awareness, understanding and preference
  • Identify target audiences and establish benchmarks, goals, and milestones for marketing plans.
  • Manage and provide overall strategic direction for organization
  • Collaborate with SVP, Growth and Director, Creative and Digital on strategic direction of internal and external marketing campaigns and projects that inform and engage stakeholders
  • Lead cross-functional National Conference planning team. Responsible for all marketing aspects of conference and production of opening session, awards banquet and additional plenary events
  • Supervise department, fostering growth and development of staff across team/groups while consistently acknowledging individual team members’ contributions and motivating team to work together in the most efficient manner
  • Analyze client input, together with background knowledge, research, etc. to participate in the development of marketing communication programs
  • Identify opportunities for organization advancement, making meaningful suggestions for change and create strategy to growth team plan
  • Develop short- and long-term plans and budgets for the marketing communications programs; monitor progress, assure adherence and evaluate performance
  • Serve as principal media contact
  • Serve as lead for Training and Strategic Marketing objective
  • Perform additional duties and participate in special projects as assigned

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Strong knowledge of marketing and preferably communications
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a professional agency or other marketing program, including working for and with senior and executive-level federal legislative, executive branch, private sector, or nonprofit officials
  • Demonstrate experience in event and/or conference planning
  • Preferred experience managing communications programs and strategies
  • Ability to establish and build relationships with outside resources/third-party groups, such as marketing vendors, advertising and public relations agencies, to help advance brand visibility, key messages, and program initiatives
  • Preferred knowledge of major media organizations, publications, programs, trends and practices
  • Advanced writing, editing, proofreading skills
  • Ability to develop and manage online and print marketing communications
  • Experience of marketing and advertising production processes, including developing and implementing marketing collateral and activities
  • Excellent managerial skills and ability to direct through/for team members
  • Excellent communications and presentation skills
  • Experience working with project management systems and workflow tools to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner
